Welcome aboard

Thank you for considering me as your language partner.

My name is Milica, I’m an English-into-Serbian medical device localisation specialist and I’ll be your point of contact during our cooperation.

I pride myself on establishing open communication with my clients, so this welcome package is here to introduce you to all the essential steps in our partnership. By the end of this document, I hope you’ll have a clear picture of what you can expect from working with me.

How can I help you?

My job is to create effective and engaging content to help you grow your medical device business in Serbia.

I localise medical device labelling and software apps into Serbian to ensure effective, safe and efficient use of your medical device(s). I can also recraft your website, blog posts and email marketing content to attract, engage and delight your users and customers in the Serbian market.

My work mainly focuses on moderate-to-high and high-risk medical devices for vascular intervention, in-vitro diagnostics, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, medical imaging, and laboratory data management.

When will you hear from me?

My working hours are the following: Mondays to Fridays from 8.00 to 16.00 CET. I try to respond to messages within one hour on working days.

My main communication channel is milica.translations@gmail.com but you can send me a LinkedIn message, too. We can also virtually meet on a video call.

You’ll hear from me:

– before I start my work to make sure I have everything I need;
– during my work if you need to help me clarify any queries;
– after I finish my work if there’s any feedback you’d like to share.

I understand that you may be very busy, so I’ll try to be concise and to the point in my communications with you.

What does working with me look like?

1. You send me a machine-readable document to be translated/edited/proofread.
2. I send you a quote.
3. I ask you for reference materials.
4. I send you queries to clarify, if any.
5. I deliver the document.
6. I follow up if there’s any feedback you’d like to share.

Best practices

The following best practices ensure optimal efficiency for me and save both time and money for you. They include providing machine-readable documents to be translated, providing reference materials and being available for queries.

Providing machine-readable document

A machine-readable document is a document whose content can be readily processed by computers. For instance, a Word document is a machine-readable document, while a scanned PDF is not. Machine-readable documents can be readily processed by translation tools that help me do my job more efficiently.

Converting a scanned PDF into a digital one can lead to additional costs with a language specialist. I strongly advise having a process in place for converting documents at your company.

Providing reference materials

Reference materials are essential because they help me deliver custom-made translations unique to your business needs and your users and customers.

I need different types of reference materials depending on the content to be translated.

– For medical device labelling, access to your videos, animations, the style guide and related completed translations (if available).
– For software interfaces, access to Figma and/or screenshots and/or the app in English, the style guide, the character count limit and the app’s instructions for use.
– For marketing content, access to your buyer persona research (if available), buyer journey analysis (if available), the style guide, localised keywords (if available) and related completed translations, including instructions for use.

Being available for queries

Queries are any questions and comments I may have about a document I translate. Queries facilitate communication between us and help me deliver high-quality translations faster. The good news is that providing reference materials can minimise the number of queries.

Next steps

I hope this document sets clear expectations about our work together. If you’re ready to grow your medical device business in Serbia, I’m here for you. You can find me at milica.translations@gmail.com and on LinkedIn. Feel free to reach out at any time.
